On September 1, 2012, the Sustaina Center for Women became the first gynecology practice in Colorado to become certified under the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists program called, “SCOPE”.
SCOPE stands for Safety Certification for Office Practice Excellence.
The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists reported that patient safety in the office is changing and becoming a critical area of concern. We accepted their challenge and became a national pilot site for small offices to become safety certified.
This was an intense process. We learned a lot and are using what we learned every day to continue to improve our processes.
