Vaccines aren’t guaranteed 100%, but they can help prevent many diseases and conditions. Here are a few (there are others):
Vaccine | How would I get this disease? | Is there a cure if I get it? |
Hepatitis A | Food | NO - it has to go away on its own, and may take its own time to go away. |
Hepatitis B | IV drug abuse, tattos and piercings, sexually transmitted. Extremely contagious! | NO - and if you develop chronic hepatitis B, it can kill you. |
Flu | Touching something someone has sneezed upon! | NO - and people die of influenza each year. |
HPV | Sexually transmitted, mostly. | NO - it has to go away on its own. Some forms of HPV can cause cancer, some form skin warts. |
Memingitis | Sharing eating utensils. | Maybe, but it is lethal, too. |
